ExtroAssist ("we", "us", "our") operates this application to facilitate voluntary peer-to-peer support. We are committed to building a safe, private, and inclusive environment for all users.

2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide our service. All identity fields are optional.
2.1 Information You Provide
- Profile information (display name, pronouns, bio) β all optional
- Task request content (title, description, category, urgency, instructions)
- Communication preferences and accessibility needs
- Volunteer profile information (bio, expertise, availability) β if you choose to volunteer
- Mood check-in data (how you feel today) β stored locally only
- Consent records (timestamps of when you accepted each agreement)
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- App usage patterns (screens visited, features used) β for improving the service
- Device type and operating system (for compatibility)
- Crash reports and error logs β never linked to your identity

- To match you with suitable volunteers based on your task category and preferences
- To display your profile (only the fields you choose to share) to matched volunteers
- To track your progress milestones and streaks within the app
- To remember your preferences and settings across sessions
- To investigate safety concerns and enforce our Community Guidelines
- To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymised usage patterns
We will never use your information for targeted advertising, sell your data to third parties, or share your sensitive information without your explicit consent.
4. Privacy Levels & Information Sharing
You control exactly what volunteers see through our five-tier privacy system. Each task request can be set independently:
- Open β Your name and task details are visible to the whole community
- Community β Visible to verified volunteers only, not the public
- Matched β Only your assigned volunteer sees your details
- Anonymous β Task details visible but your identity is hidden from all volunteers
- Ghost β Only category shown; all details hidden until you personally approve
5. Data Storage & Security
Your profile and account data is stored securely in our cloud database. Local data (such as mood check-ins) remains on your device using encrypted storage.
- All stored data is encrypted at rest
- Volunteerβseeker communication is end-to-end encrypted
- We perform regular security reviews
- In the event of a data breach affecting your information, you will be notified within 72 hours
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as required by law.
- You can delete your profile data at any time from Settings β Profile β Clear Profile Data
- Completed task records are retained for 12 months to support dispute resolution
- Anonymised, aggregated data (no personal identifiers) may be retained indefinitely for research
- Consent records are retained for legal compliance even after account deletion
To request complete deletion of all your data, email: delete@extroassist.app. We will process your request within 30 days.
7. Sharing With Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:
- With your matched volunteer β only the information your chosen privacy level permits
- With service providers (e.g. hosting, analytics) under strict data processing agreements
- When required by law, court order, or to prevent imminent harm to yourself or others
- With your explicit written consent for any other purpose
8. Sensitive Mental Health Data
Information you share about mental health conditions, neurodivergent traits, disabilities, or anxiety triggers is treated as special-category sensitive data. It is:
- Never shared with employers, insurers, or government agencies
- Never used for diagnostic, medical, or insurance purposes
- Never included in any data analytics or research without explicit separate consent
- Protected by additional access controls beyond standard user data
9. Minors
ExtroAssist is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided personal information, we will delete it immediately. Contact us at safeguarding@extroassist.app if you believe a minor has used our service.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Right of access β request a copy of your personal data
- Right to rectification β correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to erasure β "right to be forgotten" (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Right to portability β receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to object β to any processing
- Right to withdraw consent β at any time, without penalty
- Right to lodge a complaint β with your local data protection authority

11. Cookies & Tracking
The mobile app does not use cookies. The web version uses strictly necessary cookies only (session management and security). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics that identify you personally.
12. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes to this Privacy Policy with at least 14 days' notice before they take effect. We will ask you to re-read and re-accept the updated policy. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
